Host Hotel - DoubleTree by Hilton Portland
The DoubleTree is located at 1000 Northeast Multnomah Street, Portland, OR 97232. The DoubleTree is about .50 miles to the Oregon Convention Center - enjoy a short walk, brief (and free!) MAX light rail ride, or ride the complimentary shuttle bus provided by the DoubleTree. See map of the area.
You can make an online reservation by accessing the group webpage set up especially for HLAA's Convention 2013. You may also make a reservation by calling the hotel directly at 503.281.6111 or by calling the toll-free number 800.996.0510. Please reference the group code HLS. The reservation cut-off date is June 4, 2013.
UPDATE: If you are planning to spend a few extra days in Portland, it is advised that you tack those days on after the Convention; room availability before our Convention is limited.
Hotel rates and amenities
The Standard or Premium room is $159 for Single/Double; $174 for Triple; $189 for Quad. Rates are good from June 22 through July 3, based on availability. Occupancy tax is 14.5%.
Standard rooms have one queen bed, 400 square feet, beautiful views of the Cascade Mountains or Portland skyline, shower, wireless Internet, flat screen TV, plus normal hotel amenities; renovated in 2010.
Premium rooms have two queens or one king bed, 600 square feet, views of Cascade Mountains or Portland skyline, tub/shower, wireless Internet, flat screen TV, balcony, double vanity, plus normal amenities; renovated in 2009.
All guests at the DoubleTree will receive a "Grab-n-Go" breakfast Thursday, Friday, and Saturday as they depart for the Oregon Convention Center; in addition each guest will receive a $5 gift card for Gather Food and Drink, open from 6 a.m. - 11 p.m.
Overflow Hotels
Because of two other large conventions at the Oregon Convention Center, hotel rooms for Tuesday, June 25 and Wednesday, June 26 are becoming scarce. We have contracted with the following hotels for overflow rooms:
We have a limited number of rooms (either 1 king or 2 queens) at the Red Lion for Tuesday and Wednesday at $125/night plus 14.5% tax. It is located at 1021 NE Grand Avenue, Portland, OR 97232, directly across from the Oregon Convention Center. For reservations, call 1-800-733-5466 and be sure to identify yourself as being with the Hearing Loss Association of America group.
Courtyard by Marriott
Located at 550 SW Oak Street in downtown Portland, the Courtyard by Marriott Portland City Center offers rooms with either 1 king or 2 queens at $172/night plus occupancy tax (14.5%). The Convention Center is an easy ride away on the MAX. For reservations, call 1-800-606-3717 and identify yourself as being with the Hearing Loss Association of America. We suggest making reservations by March 27.
The Benson
The Benson, a historic landmark hotel, is located at 309 SW Broadway in downtown Portland, just a short MAX ride from the Convention Center. It has rooms with either 1 queen or 2 doubles at $172/night plus tax. Parking is $31/night. Call 503-228-2000 or 888-523-6766 for reservations. We suggest making reservations by March 27.
Getting Around Portland
TriMet operates the light rail system. The good news is that despite the fact that TriMet is eliminating the "free zone," Convention attendees will be issued a free pass. More information about how to obtain the free pass will be available closer to Convention-time.
