HLAA, TDI and Consumer Groups Respond to FCC’s IP CTS Order

HLAA, TDI, and other consumer organizations filed a Petition for Stay on September 30, 2013. Our Petition requests the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) put a hold on implementation of one section of their Internet Protocol Captioned Telephone Services (IP CTS) Order that requires all users to pay a minimum of $75 for the captioned telephones. See our Petition.

The Hearing Loss Association of America is conducting an online survey to learn about the experiences of adults with a hearing loss who use Captioned Telephone Services (CTS). If you have a captioned telephone, please complete our quick survey. The survey should take about 6-8 minutes to complete. Your answers will help us better understand how captioned services are being used. Survey deadline is October 12, 2013.

HLAA Receives $50,000 Hearing Assistive Technology Training Grant from the CEA Foundation

The CEA Foundation has made a grant of $50,000 to the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) to fund a hands-on, train-the-trainer program on hearing assistive and emerging technologies for consumers with hearing loss. This grant aligns with the CEA Foundation’s mission to link seniors and people with disabilities with technologies to enhance their lives.
